Commercial Project, Seamens Bank 

We’ll be keeping you updated as we proceed on this Seamens Bank project in Wellfleet via our Blog tab.  Here you see photos of the groundbreaking ceremony and the start of our lot clearing in early May, 2012.  This was followed by removal of top soil, preloading, compacting, lifts and prep and install of Cultec drainage field.  Stay tuned for more photos as the job completes and check the blog for up to date photos.

Complex Building Sites

For one recent residential project for a Truro client,  GFM Enterprises started with a blank slate. After clearing the land, we installed cellar holes, a septic system, and leaching field.  GFM Enterprises then executed a complex foundation design using 2″ rigid insulation, laying the groundwork for not only the home, but also for tennis and basketball courts. With a few carefully placed retaining walls, the lawns and landscape are ready to be enjoyed for years to come. Operating in the densely packed neighborhoods of Provincetown is no problem for GFM Enterprises. Getting equipment in and out efficiently can be a challenge, but there’s nobody better than a local to navigate the local streets. At 162 Commercial Street, we made some radical changes to a proud old home. After carefully planned demolition of a portion of the house, the old bones were lifted, a new foundation was poured, and the house was moved upon it. The history of the old house was preserved and the future looks bright on its solid foundation.

Unique Septic System

This job, working with Winkler Construction, required a septic system 5′ away from the home and 26′ deep which meant extraordinarily careful work.  GFM Excavating knew just what to do, bringing in a pile driver to shore up the house, steel eyebeams for support, and a crane to do the deep digging.  The photos show the amazing and professionally precise work we completed for this happy homeowner.

Retaining Walls

Once again, the tight spaces in Provincetown present a special challenge, but GFM Enterprises knows just how to handle these projects.  First, we remove the existing wall, then install new footings, steel plates and rebar, along with replacing new sewer lines.  We have expertise in both concrete and timber retaining walls.  The walls in these photos will be there for a very, very long time!
